Membership

Individuals and departments can join the National Police Bloodhound Association. Both must have powers of arrest.

Membership Qualifications

There are two types of memberships available for the National Police Bloodhound Association: individual and departmental.

Individual Membership

Open to sworn law enforcement personnel and other individuals possessing police powers. Must have powers of arrest.

Departmental Membership

Membership limited to law enforcement agencies only. Must have powers of arrest.

For potential new members, request a new member application by sending an e-mail message to Vice President Roger Titus at vicepresident@npba.com. Please include address, phone number, and department that you are employed by when requesting an application.

Current and previous members may renew their membership by downloading one of the two renewal forms: individual or departmental. Click on the form to download.

Complete the form and mail it with dues payment. Instructions are on the form. You will need Adobe Reader to open the form.

No Fees

Members of the National Police Bloodhound Association are prohibited from establishing or charging a fee of any kind for performing mantrailing services. However, this does not prohibit a member from receiving unsolicited donations or even reasonable expenses for example, travel, food, lodging, and so on.

NPBA One-Year Bloodhound Certification

Certification consists of completing an extensive 40-hour class consisting of classroom instruction, field work, written test, and successful instructor evaluation. Contact the NPBA training coordinator for more information.
